Treatment Approaches & Clinical Interests

Jessica provides psychotherapeutic services for adolescents, adults, couples, and families. As a Filipina American with a deep commitment to honoring the values and cultural diversity of clients, Jessica strives to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel that their experiences are recognized and respected. Her approach emphasizes empathy and a strong belief in the transformative power of therapy. She often works from a cognitive behavioral perspective, which looks into how our life experiences shape our thoughts, beliefs, and values, and how they then shape how we feel and what we do. Exploring the meaning of experiences through this framework in addition to a variety of treatment techniques, Jessica seeks to help others find a deeper meaning of their life’s story and to build skills toward greater functioning. Jessica also has a clinical interest in working with clients with trauma-related issues.

Education & Experience

Jessica received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa and her Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology from the Rosemead School of Psychology at Biola University. Jessica is a current 4th year doctoral student at the Rosemead School of Psychology in pursuit of her Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree. She has received clinical training in community mental health programs, elementary schools, and university counseling for psychotherapy and assessment. Jessica has also received training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills training, and Play Therapy.

Faith & Spirituality

Jessica’s Pentecostal Christian faith and active service within the church profoundly shape her approach to supporting personal growth in others. She integrates values such as empathy, humility, and hope with scientific knowledge and research to foster a comprehensive understanding of mental health, including the search for meaning in suffering. With clinical experience across diverse cultural and religious backgrounds, Jessica is open to further exploring the client’s faith and spirituality as part of their treatment journey. She is dedicated to helping clients function in ways that resonates with their individual values and beliefs, prioritizing client-directed approaches to promote improved functionality and well-being.
